Joseph Donald Mallak Jr.

Joseph Donald Mallak Jr., age 76, of Silver Lake passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025 at Cedar Crest.

He was born on April 17, 1949 in Hutchinson the son of Joseph & Irene (Strauss) Mallak Sr.

He attended Holy Trinity Catholic School in Winsted and graduated high school from Lester Prairie in 1967.

On November 30, 1968, Joseph D. Mallak Jr. and Constance “Connie” Fasching were joined in holy marriage at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Glencoe.   God blessed their marriage with three daughters.

Farming was Joe’s life and passion!   He belonged to The Farm Bureau and formerly served on The Winsted Farmer’s Coop Board.  

Joe was a faithful member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake and belonged to The Knights of Columbus Mother Cabrini Council #1841.

Survived by daughters: Janelle Weber, Janette (Tom) Bayerl and Julene (Jay) Borka; grandchildren: Spenser (Abby) Weber, Shantel Weber and Savanna Weber; Mitchell (Ciera) Bayerl, Raechell (Ben) Nelson, Russell Bayerl and Gabriell Bayerl; great grandchildren: Huxley Weber, Cashton Bayerl, Addison Bayerl, Boston Bayerl, McKinnon Bayerl, Callahan Nelson and Jane Nelson; sisters: Margie Walsh, Sylvia (Val) Meyer, Mavis Weber, Conradine Mitchell, Mary Jo (Joe) Sheehan and Celestine Ramstorf; many other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his loving wife Connie in 2009, his parents, a grandchild Severin Weber, son-in-law Steven Weber and by a sister Bernadine Herzog.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Joseph “Joe” Mallak Jr. will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake.   Father Matthew Wiering will be the Celebrant.

Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11th AT THE CHURCH beginning at 9:00 A.M.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to a charity of choice.
